Sony Xperia XZs with 4GB RAM & 19MP Camera to Launch in India on April 4th

At the recently concluded Mobile World Congress, Sony launched the flagship smartphone Xperia XZ Premium with a 4K display and also the Xperia XZs, the upgraded variant of the last year’s Xperia XZ. While there is no news about the launch of Xperia XZ Premium in the Indian market, the company is actually bringing the smaller Xperia XZs. It will be officially launched on April 4th and on the same date, Lenovo is launching the affordable Moto G5 exclusively on Amazon India. Talking about the device itself, it comes with a metal body and will be available in Ice Blue, Warm Silver, and Black color options.
The design looks exactly same as the last year’s Xperia XZ and even the specifications also remain same, except the rear camera sensor. The Xperia XZs sports a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos display with big bezels on the top and bottom edges. Under the hood is the last year’s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. It also packs 4GB of RAM which is good enough even for the heavy multi-tasking. Though Xperia XZs comes with 64GB of internal storage, there is also a MicroSD card for further expansion up to 256GB.
Just like most of the other Xperia smartphones, the Xperia XZs is also water and dust resistant with the IP65/68 certification. While the Xperia XA features 23MP rear camera with triple image sensing technology, its successor comes with a 19MP sensor with f/2.0 lens. It supports Predictive Hybrid Autofocus and 5-axis Stabilization. The device can record 4K videos and capture HDR photos. Coming to the selfie camera, there is a 13MP sensor with tf/2.0 aperture on the front. The power button on the right edge also comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor.
It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, and the company will surely upgrade the device to upcoming Android O once it is released. With all these high-end specifications, the device is backed by a 2,900mAh non-removable battery and supports Qnovo adaptive fast charging with Quick Charge mode. The device measures 146 x 72 x 8.1 mm and weighs 161 grams. The Indian variants come with dual SIM dual standby feature and offer 4G VoLTE support. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. The official pricing of the Xperia XZs will be announced on the launch day which is just a week away.

Having said that,  it comes with an exceptional camera. As Sony explains the new 19 Mega Pixel resolution camera is an engineering feat. The camera has 19MP Motion Eye Camera, 1/2.3” Exmor RS™ for mobile memory stacked sensor which can record ultra slow motion @ 960 fps. Sony calls it Super slow motion videos which no other smartphone camera can capture

It also comes with a new Predictive capture which takes 4 images before even push the camera button giving choice to you to select the perfect shot.

There is an inbuilt Anti-distortion shutter and also a Triple image sensing technology to ensure you get the best shot every time. Impressive Huh …..

There is also a 13 Mega Pixel selfie camera to click some stunning selfies for Instagram.

Another reason it is really called premium …ohh don’t think of the price tag .. we are talking of the insane 4K display which Sony has used in the Xperia XZ Premium.

There is a 5.5′ inch 4K (3840* 2880) pixels display which offers an insane amount of 801 pixels per inch.  The HDR Display from Sony comes with usual Sony technologies including TRILUMINOS™ Display for mobile & X-Reality™ for mobile.

The other big highlight of the smartphone is it’s processor – Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 clocked at 2.45 GHz and accompanied by Adreno 540 GPU. It is the fastest processor in production and will also power the Samsung S8 and S8 Plus.

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium runs on the Android Nougat 7.1 and comes with 4 GB of Ram and 64 GB of internal storage.

There is IP 65/ 68 Dust and Water rating which makes the smartphone waterproof like the rival LG G6.

There is 3230 mAH of battery capacity which comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium comes with 4G LTE (CAT 16) support along with NFC and USB Type C port.

There is also a High resolution LDAC to offer Dolby surround sound along with the 4K display to ensure nothing is missing from this entertainment power house.

The smartphone will come in two colors Deepsea Black and Luminous Chrome. It measures 195 grams (pretty heavy) and has a thickness of 7.9 mm.

Sony has yet not shared the price of the device but we can expect it to be astronomical when it launches in Q2 2017.

Sony Xperia XZs

Sony Xperia XZs is a smaller variant of the last year XZ mobile and comes with a 5.2 inch display with Full HD resolution.

The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor along with the Adreno 530 GPU.

There is 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage variants which can be further expanded to 256 GB using the Micro sd card slot.

The XZs comes with 2900 mAH Battery capacity and has 161 gram weight. All the other features and camera specs are similar to the more expensive XZ Premium.
